CULTURAL SPACE

Amzer Nevez offers various activities based on Breton culture :

Language:

- Weekly courses during the day and evenings (50 hours/year);
- Seminars for all levels (revising to perfectioning...);
- Long seminars (900) with Stumdi;
- Other associations also organise Breton seminars in our premises: Skol An Emsav, KEAV.

Music:

- Weekly workshops one-to-one or in groups for bombarde, Scottish bagpipe, diatonic accordion, harp, wooden flute, side drum;
- Training for members of the Bagad Ploemeur;
- Instrument seminars (semi-beginners, intermediates, 1 to 5 days), harmonisation seminars, workshops for bagadoù with BAS.

Singing:

Weekly singing workshops in Breton.

Dances:

Lessons and courses for beginners and intermediates with the War 'L Leur federation.

Library:

4500 books and discs about Brittany and Celtic countries.

Schools:

Amzer Nevez accomodates artistic initiation classes, relocated classes and also offers day-long activities focusing on Breton culture for schools.

Accomodation:

Amzer Nevez also accomodates and is the work place of major federations of Breton culture (Bodadeg Ar Sonerion, War 'L Leur...). They organise here their training courses (music and dance), of course, but also meetings, seminars ...

Creation:

Amzer Nevez caters for artists and musical bands, for their rehearsals , preparation for concerts and creation...

Diffusion:

Festoù Noz (Breton folk balls), concerts, conferences, etc. are regularly scheduled, in particular, during seminars.

AMZER NEVEZ ALSO ACCOMODATES ON ITS PREMISES :

- The administrative services for BODADEG AR SONERION, the bagadoù federation;

- The administrative services for SON HA DAÑS, association in charge of the promotion of Celtic circles and bagadoù;

- The Morbihan branch of the OFFICE DE LA LANGUE BRETONNE (Breton Language Office) charged in particular of the linguistic heritage.

EDITIONS

Amzer Nevez produces and publishes video teaching methods:

Initiation to bombarde by Yann KERMABON. Duration 72 mn

Initiation to celtic harpe by Françoise LE VISAGE. Duration 112 mn

Audio-visual contact with the teacher enables the student to concretely grasps the various exercises leading, on the one hand to the technical mastering of the instrument, but also through the proposed musical repertoire, to approach various styles of traditional Breton music.

They are designed to help students to understand and learn how to play at their own pace.
