Akordeoñs

He was at first a famous musician in pair, and in 1978, he started to play accordion. During the 10 following years, he mainly played with the group TAMMLES. Since 1990, he plays in solo or with groups QUARTET ALAIN PENNEC, Les QUATRE JEAN, HIRIO, DENEZ PRIGENT, BROU-PENNEC, and SLOï.

Briton music : work on listening, technical problems (touches and orementations), harmony and rhythm, phrase and arrangements.

Stage International de Musique : Konogan AN HABASK
 

 

BOMBARD

Konogan est issu d’une famille de sonneurs. Il débute l’apprentissage de la bombarde à l’âge de 6 ans tout d’abord au sein de l’ E.N.M de Quimper puis à l’école du Bagad Kemper. Avide d’expériences musicales diverses il découvre de manière autodidacte la pratique en couple et fait danser aux quatre coins de la Bretagne avec le groupe Startijenn depuis plus de dix ans. Sa pratique de la bombarde se complète de celles du Biniou et du Uilleann pipes.
konogan se propose, lors de ce stage, de vous initier ou de vous perfectionner à la musique instrumentale du Sud-Cornouaille. Ces répertoires sont emblématiques de la virtuosité des sonneurs Cornouaillais, ce stage sera l’occasion de s’en imprégner.
Son compère, Youenn Chapalan, sera présent pour une journée de stage consacrée à la pratique du jeu en couple.

BAGPIPE

He started playing pipe in 1965, with the members of the « Bagad » of Saint-Malo, and then in the « An Ere » pipe band. He rapidly distingued himself as a brilliant solist competitor. He was initiated to Pibroc’h during one year, by the famous Bob Brown. He won the Mac Allan trophee three times. Patrick Molard has been playing as a professional musician since 1972 (with Stivell, Dan Ar Bras, Gwerz, Den, Celtic Jazz Procession...)

WOODEN TRANSVERSE FLUTE

Jean-Michel VEILLON is one of the firsts who adapted the wooden flute to Briton music. During more than fifteen years, he travelled all around Europe and USA with Kornog, Pennou Skoulm, Den, Barzaz, Jacques Pellen and DAN AR BRAZ, Yvon RIOU, Alain GENTY or Kristen NOGUES. At the moment, he plays with Jamie MC MENEMY, Renan LE BARS, Kornog, Pennoù skoulm, Flûtes 4, and Toud’sames. He strongly influenced the settlement of the flute in Brittany.

Technical work (posture, touch, breath, mouthpiece) and application to Briton and Irish themes;

Study of the game: solo, duet, group and relating implications (unison, variations, ornamentation, rhythm and soundness.

GUITAR

Soig Siberil was one of the first Briton Breton guitarists to play in « open tuning ». This technique added to his passion and knowledge of the celtic musical matter lead him to play in groups such as « Gwerz », « Kemia », « Den », « Orion », « Pennoù skoulm », « Denez Prigent », « Nolwenn Korbel ». At present, he mainly performs on his own.

Working with an open tuned guitar on traditional Celtic music (BritonBreton, Irish, Scottish...). Working on picking, flat-picking and harmony.

CELTIC HARP
She is an Irish teacher who plays the harp for more 30 years. She created her own style attending the classic courses and being inspired by traditional musicians. She was the winner of national end international competitions several times. Her fame brought her to Europe and U.S.A., playing in solo, with her group "Belfast Harp Orchestra" or as a teacher in training periods.

FIDDLE

Paul O’Shaughnessy is from Dublin where he learned to play the fiddle at an early age from his mother Pearl McBride and Antóin Mac Gabhainn. He was also taught to play the tin whistle by Mary Bergin and Mícheál Ó hAlmhain.

He played with Con Cassidy and Francie Dearg Ó Beirne, who are no longer with us and with Vincent Campbell and his brother Jimmy. In the late eighties and early nineties he toured and recorded with Altan.

In 1996 with the flute player, Paul McGrattan, Frankie Lane. He is now recording and touring with the band Beginish. In September, 2003 Paul along with Harry Bradley and Tara Diamond.

Jean BARON

He exercises traditional dance and music for more than 30 years, is one of the holders of the State Degree of traditional music, and was several times “Champion de Bretagne”. Among his various activities, he teaches dance in the Regional School of Ploemeur.

Tierry RIOU

He is a member of the group of breton dances in Landrevarzec since 1992, amd monitor in this group since 1997. His formation makes him to be permanent for the federation War'l Leur since 1999. He has diploma of Confederation War’l Leur for teaching breton dance.
