ORGANISATION

Amzer Nevez was originally a "regional conservatoire for music and dance". The equipment was created in 1981 further to the "1977 Breton cultural charter". It became a cultural centre in 1990: the regional centre for Breton and Celtic culture of Amzer Nevez.

It is an non-profit association in favour of Breton culture. Amzer Nevez gathers, apart from B.A.S. and War 'L Leur, 27 cultural associations and more than 500 individual members (students at the classes and seminars organised by the Centre itself).

The association is managed by a board of directors composed of three groups:

- legitimate members (Brittany regional council, the 5 Breton departments, the towns of Lorient and Ploemeur, the Morbihan Prefecture);
- associative members: 3 representatives from BAS, 3 representatives from War 'L Leur, 4 representatives from other member associations;
- individual members: 1 representative.

The day-to-day running of the Centre is managed by a team of 26 permanent staff:

- reception and administration;
- music, dance and Breton teachers;
- catering staff;
- cleaning staff
and numerous external contributors (about sixty a year): artists, teachers, etc. who regularly take part to seminars, etc.
